CBN is employed for grinding:

  • high-speed steels (HSS)
  • high-alloyed tool steels with at least 55 HRC
  • chromium steels
  • case-hardened steels
  • iron-based powder coatings
  • chill castings
  • soft steels in certain applications
  • stellite

CBN powders can be:

  • produced in micron, FEPA or US Mesh specifications
  • produced in non-standard grits like 25/20, 20/10, 12/8, 4/2 and others
  • coated with nickel, copper and titanium.

To check granulometric composition of CBN powders we use Mastersizer laser diffraction system.
